In conjunction with the NSA, I am pleased to announce that the Naked Surfball Association of America webpage is now online.
About a year and a half ago they came to me (I’m friends with some members) looking for an inexpensive webhosting option and wanted a “personal” connection. I corralled what meagre HTML and PHP skills I had and threw together a basic webpage for them, and it languished for quite some time. With increased interest in the sport they have decided to make another online “push” and to that end, I have redesigned the site using the Joomla software package. I have also created an online store for purchasing surfball merchandise, although the payment system has yet to be implemented.
I encourage you to browse around, and if you have any interest in surfball, to get in touch with the NSA to find a league in your area.
Well I’ve been getting a tonne of trackback SPAM which Bad Behaviour wasn’t picking up, so I’ve activated the Askimet plugin. Apologies if a comment gets caught as SPAM.
Just in case anyone is confused, I’ve renamed Popular Culture as Culture and Media and added a Technology category… That will be all. If any of this is confusing, then you’re spending too much time on my blog.
I can’t seem to make up my mind where to focus my next group of posts, so I’ve put a poll up. You guys tell me where I should direct my thoughts.
1. Well, it would appear that the government has hosed me yet again. As I mentioned earlier I applied for a job with the government that met (and exceeded) each and every qualification of, and I apparently didn’t even draw an interview. I can say with complete confidence that I am more suited and better qualified for the position than the other candidates, even without having met them. So, I’ve sent off my applications for a job in Japan. Hopefully those don’t disappear down the hole where every other job application I’ve sent out in the last 40 days has gone.
2. Nobody wants to take a stab at my movie quiz? Back when I had 5-10 readers a WEEK I got several entries… Does nobody drink beer in this country? I’ll expand the prize to any other beverage of a lesser or equal value!
Ok, so my old poll is gone. 8 people (out of 15) agreed me with when I wrote that, “what is required is a loose set of guidelines dictating how developments in the region should be approached, without specifying specific courses of action, or specific responses. These are the guidelines as I see them, and how they should be applied against specific regional actors…
So it’s time for a new poll. Between the Conservative’s “West Wing” approach to environmentalism (if we talk really fast and use big words people will think we’re smart), and the NDP’s “Care Bear” approach (if we rub our tummies and act really nice those meanies will do the right thing) the “environmental” discourse in Canada is faltering, even at a time when interest is maximized. So, in reference to this post I ask you this: What needs to come first, Conservation or a closing of power plants?
Just stopping by and saying hello to do two things…
First, welcome to all the new visitors who came by after seeing me linked on Kinsella’s blog. I don’t know what exactly he found interesting about what I had to say, but I hope you’ll look around and find something worth commenting on, or coming back for…
Second, I want to draw attention to my rapidly expanding collection of 80×15 buttons on the left-hand sidebar; and the April Reign link in particular. It’s a groovy blog, and I highly recommend checking it out.
I would like to welcome Ted back to the fold, with his first of what is hopefully many posts. If anyone else wishes to join in as a contributor to this blog, please leave a comment or email to that effect: I would be glad to expand the roster.
