Get down off that bandwagon before you hurt yourself.
For those who actually read the above by-line, you’ll notice this one does not say “Joseph”. While I may not be able to write as frequently as our host, I’ve promised to put fingers to keys every once in a while and throw in my occasional two cents. I give it about a one in three chance that Joe will eventually rue the day he gave me author status, but let’s hope he doesn’t. This particular article would have made more sense to post before the election, but none-the-less here it goes. And please forgive my long-windedness.
So the election has come and gone and, as would be expected, each party proudly brandished whatever issues they though would most please their potential voters. I was a little surprised that relatively minor issues like cutting transit prices got more media play than issues such as poverty. I was surprised not because saving a nickel on my metropass is by any means unimportant, but because poverty is so visible. (more…)
