Canada’s Debate

So, I am employed. More to the point, my life actually has some direction for the first time in years. It’s time to be frank with you my loyal reader, and the other not-so loyal ones which I still appreciate, my interest in politics has always been inversely proportional to whatever else (of importance) I’ve had going on in my life.

To put it plain, politics has been a hobby. Being underemployed for over a year, and student before that gave me a great deal of time for hobbies. I still have free time, but I have made a conscious decision to spend what time I do have on me. I have a clear plan for my life for the first time, and it’s a plan that actually has a sense of tangible realism. The key to that plan is not only doing my new job (more on that below), but doing it well and devoting myself towards being a success.

I still intend to blow earnestly and intelligently on the state of politics in Canada and abroad, but I will not be posting several times a day, or necessarily daily. The blogging congress is obviously on the backburner until I’m either able to figure out a way to devote myself to two major projects (my life and the site) at the same time.

So, what do I do exactly? I am an Account Manager for a full-service recruitment and staffing agency that is looking to expand it’s IT and Accounting recruitment profile, and I am the man who’s going to be doing the legwork. It’s hard work, and it will probably be frustrating to start out, but I intend to put my giant brain to good use. How else can I afford to purchase a two-bedroom condo in under 6 months?

  1. It’s been nice & informative reading some of your posts although I do not always agree with your views but, hey, who cares? The discussion was part of the fun. Good luck … with everything!

P.S. I hope you never ever lose your enthusiasm for politics.

  2. My enthusiasm for politics waxes and wanes, usually in accordance with my overall mood. The more miserable I am, the more I care.

  4. Thanks, although according to Werner Patels there is a design flaw in this easy-to-read blog… one which only he sees.

Between work, social obligations and an illness in the family my time just isn’t my own, but by this weekend or the next I should be able to lay another knowledge-turd on you guys.
