In the past 24 hours I have learned two very important things; first, that I am not the only person to get screwed by the Liberal Party, and that the simple solution is quite often the best… Ok, I didn’t really learn that last bit, but I received a strong reminder of it’s importance. Given these facts I am left wondering: Is the Liberal Party ready for an election?
Sure, the Libs have a shiny new leader and some momentum, but as my post and comments, and a similar one over at Scott’s DiaTribes suggest, the grass-root mechanisms necessary for a political party to succeed in the new corporate-donation free environment has some serious problems. Unfortantely, the anecdotes of a dozen bloggers does not extrapolate into a usable data-set so I have no way of knowing if there is a widespread problem or just isolated difficulties which are overrepresented by cynical bloggers. Still, it does seem to warrant attention. Now, I don’t have a great picture of the state of finances in the party itself, but it did come out of the last election with one, and has been in campaign mode ever since so I can only assume that one persists…
With the Conservatives spinning themselves silly in preparation for an election I guess it really boils down to “Are the Liberals ready?” I have my doubts.

That sounds like an interesting debate, because from one election to another, the Liberals don’t seem to change if you look at the despicable hypocrisy that they display towards the ethnic minorities:
The Liberals and ethnic minorities
While I appreciate your journalistic fervour, don’t you think it’s a bit disingenuous to post a comment on my blog that has no real connection to the original post, with no other purpose than to draw traffic to your own site?
