Well, it’s true. Joseph Krengel, the man that hasn’t had a job paying more than $8.15 in the last five years, has a job. Of course, it pays $8.00, but it’s full time now. Since I’m done with school, but I don’t have a degree as of yet, I have lots of time, and no cash with which to enjoy it. So I decided to go out and see what sort of seasonal work I could find. Turns out that I will be working for KitchenStuff Plus for the next couple of months. Of course, it could turn into a full-time position if I do well, but there’s a wrinkle. I’d have to kill myself if after five years of university I took the first low-paying, zero-thought retail job that came my way. In fact, I have standing orders for one of my readers to come and execute me (I will pay the expenses) if I am still working this job in the new year… oh and if any of you would be willing to offer your services for free, just email me.
Of course, being me, there’s a complication. For at least part of the duration, I will be working with my sister. In fact, I will be working under her. I am not looking forward to that particular aspect of my employment; but it’s a job.
What is perhaps more exciting is that I am once again on a hot streak. Despite the fact that I am chronically underemployed, or flat out jobless, I have now been hired coming out of eight of my last ten job interviews. If only I could figure out a way to actually get an interview for a good job, I’d be set.
I will by the way be posting about the Gomery report, and the various responses, tomorrow. Stay tuned.
