I tried to avoid Memes

Well, I had hoped to avoid it, but since today is a slow news day (I really don’t have anything to say about Karla Homolka right now), I figure I’ll just bite the bullet and post a little quiz thingy I got from my friend Titus over at Bloggus Maximus, who in turn picked it up from Wertz (also featured on my blogroll.) Ok, so this is simple. I’ve got screencaps from 10 movies. The first person to correctly guess all ten (or barring that, the most (deadline date will be whenever I feel like) wins a free beer, courtesy of me, at any bar in downtown Toronto.

If you’ve got a problem with the nudity in image number three, tough shit. See below…

Ok, so about the nudity. I don’t see what the big deal is, really? It’s immoral, or so I’m told. Well you know what? If the only reason that I can’t walk around with my junk flapping around (that’s not to say I would) is because it would inflame the passions of some passerby, then we need to reevaluate where our morality comes from. We all scoff at Muslim men who force their women to dress head-to-toe in a birqha… well I ask you, how is the “western” moral position on clothing any different?

  1. Seven Through Ten are (I believe) as follows:

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
    Office Space
    Dark City
    The Big Lebowski

    Is five Candian Bacon?

    And I know I’ve seen 1 and 4 somewhere.

  2. Holy flurking shnit! I actually know one of these. #6 is from The Producers. Yeah me!

And I would rather see someone’s junk over their blood any day. I’m perpetually confused by why I can see a battered, bloody dead body on TV but not a live, naked one. Defies reality.

  3. To add my feeble cents (or cent as the case may be)..

    #3 - The cooler
    #6 - The producers

I think #4 might be that movie in which Natalie Portman costars as the girl he’s protecting for some reason..it might be called ‘the professional’

The previous guy was right about 5 and 7-10

  4. #4 seems a lot like Ronin, but I may be totally out in left field with that one. The other ones i Know were already answered here.

  5. Not sure how I missed this, but…

    4. Léon (I think)
    5. Canadian Bacon
    6. The Producers
    8. Office Space (I think)
    9. Dark City

I know #10, too, but can’t place it. grrr

  6. Well I’m going to call it at this point. Titus is the winner. The full list looks like this:

    1. American Psycho
    2. Strange Brew
    3. The Cooler (Props to Mike.)
    4. Ronin (Come on people!)
    5. Canadian Bacon
    6. The Producers
    7. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
    8. Office Space
    9. Dark City
    10. The Big Lebowski.

Titus, next time you’re in Toronto I’ll buy you a beer. All in all I’m impressed, only “American Psycho” and “Strange Brew” couldn’t be identified.

  7. […] Prize: I’ve done these twice before, but on both ocassions the winner lived in the States. The prize remains the same: the winning entrant gets a free pint of any beer on tap at a bar to be agreed-upon with me in the Municipality of Toronto (or elsewhere in Ontario if circumstances allow.) The deadline for claiming this prize is as long as I live in Ontario. […]
