The hair, it makes me sick!

Ok so lets talk hockey. New details are coming out on a daily basis about “the deal” (by the way, why are their no good hockey blogs that aren’t devoted to a single team?) and nothing I’ve read leads me to believe that hockey will be in any better shape than it was before Bob and Gary decided to glory-hole the game*… And nothing I read today (averaging salaries for cap measurement purposes, increasing salaries for less-talented players, etc. Toss in the shortened free agency period and rushed arbitration process and you can almost guarantee a frenzy of bad contracts and questionable signings. Given the complete lack of willpower demonstrated to this point by owners and GM’s to improve the on-ice program, those efforts also look pretty pathetic. (Continue reading…)

Foot loose and hangover free

As I’m sure all three of you noticed, I haven’t posted in a little while. After seeing lordhelmet’s ‘comment’ last week I lost my cool, and I needed to take a break from online life for a bit. However, since I’m unemployed and living at home with the ‘rents it doesn’t take me too long to collect myself; and after getting knackered last night; I’m good to go again.

Unfortunately, I don’t really have too much to talk about. There’s nothing interesting going on north of the border at the moment (unless you count Klein being the same old “Confederation be damned” ass and Chuck Cadman knuckling under Harper’s steel eyed glare and succumbing to cancer.) London Calling…

The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Engines stop running and the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
London is drowning-and I live by the river

I had planned to talk about some pop-culture nonsense with this post, but the events of the day demand some attention I think. Now before I start into it, don’t for one second assume that I am being crass or unsympathetic. (Continue reading…)

I tried to avoid Memes

By: Joseph @ 5:20 pm

Well, I had hoped to avoid it, but since today is a slow news day (I really don’t have anything to say about Karla Homolka right now), I figure I’ll just bite the bullet and post a little quiz thingy I got from my friend Titus over at Bloggus Maximus, who in turn picked it up from Wertz (also featured on my blogroll.) Ok, so this is simple. I’ve got screencaps from 10 movies. The first person to correctly guess all ten (or barring that, the most (deadline date will be whenever I feel like) wins a free beer, courtesy of me, at any bar in downtown Toronto. (Continue reading…)

Capping the weekend

A lot of shit ‘went down’ this weekend I didn’t feel that any of it warranted a full-out, Rambling Joseph kind of treatment, so instead I’ve decided to recap the last four days. This seems like a much safer road to travel. Before I do that though, I have a question for those of you out there in the blogsphere… can any of you tell me how to disable internal trackbacks? It’s a real bitch linking to my older posts because it generates these ugly and ungainly comments. Moving right along… (Continue reading…)
