The times, they are a changin’

As you may have noticed (that is, if you actually visit on a semi-regular basis) I’ve made a few changes here at Joe’s Blog. I’ve been slacking off to a fair degree and I figured it was time to get back on top of things. I’ve done two things to this site that you should notice.

1. For starters, I’ve played around with the Stylesheet, and I’ve played around with a plugin. stereo1The end result is I can now put images and thumbnails into my posts without any trouble. Now, this isn’t going to become a photoblog or anything, since I don’t have a decent camera and I rarely use anyone else’s, but when the mood strikes me I can throw in a thumbnail of a picture, like this one right here. I used a couple in my last post just to sort of set the mood. Now, if you want to submit an image for any reason… just email me… but I won’t hold my breath.

2. The second change I’ve made is the use of Category Icons. You may have noticed this image beside this post on the front page. Well, I’ve created a set of images for each of the post categories (except for ‘uncategorized’ which I will hopefully remember to stop using, since I can’t delete it and editting posts is a pain.) You will recognize these images as they will always have a solid-red border and will only appear on the front page of the blog. The image to the right is the “My Life” icon… and the other five are as follows, in order (Essays, Canadian Politics, American Politics, Your Life, and Election):

, , , ,

Ok, so I suppose all of that isn’t too interesting. Just figured I’d be honest about where this blog has been, and where it is going. I will be writing more and more in the coming days… some of my posts will be political, others will be satirical, and ocassionally I will just ramble on about my own life. All of the work I’ve done on the site in the last month+ has pretty much been to get it where I wanted it when this site first launched. Now that I’m actually caught up however I can start to finally work on the other features that I originally wanted to include. I will eventually be adding some other pages to Canada’s Debate to compliment my blog, I’m just a little starved for content at the moment. Stay tuned, and of course keep on checking in here to hear what I have to say.
